After a long day at the theme parks one of our favorite spots to visit is the Outer Rim at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This laid-back bar is unique in that it really isn’t “closed off” to the traffic headed into Chef Mickey’s or the Contempo Cafe, but it’s still a nice spot to relax and enjoy a great cocktail.
And after dark, the views from the Outer Rim are out-of-this-world – you can see the Seven Seas Lagoon, the Magic Kingdom all lit up, and the Grand Floridian. And if you’re lucky you might even catch the Electric Water Pageant as it floats by on the Lagoon.
If you’re grabbing a quick bite to eat at the Contempo Cafe you can also order a drink in the Outer Rim and take it to your table in the Cafe. Because sometimes you need a specialty cocktail with that Lobster Roll. 😉
The bar menu at the Outer Rim is quite fabulous and features 20 specialty cocktails including some “old school” drinks like a Rye Manhattan and Moscow Mule.
You’ll also find wines, sangria, lagers, ales, and more on the menu – plus some non-alcoholic drinks like a Sparkling No-Jito and a Coconut Elixir.
The Outer Rim is open from 4:30-10:30 p.m. every day and is located on the Grand Canyon Concourse of the Contemporary in the same area as Chef Mickey’s and the Contempo Cafe.
