Disney’s California Grill is one of Disney World’s crown jewel restaurants, and has won numerous local, national, and international awards for its cuisine and service. The restaurant is located on the tippy top 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort, and offers a panoramic view of Disney World and Orlando from its nearly floor to ceiling windows.
California Grill is a foodie and wine-lover’s dream, with several sommeliers on staff and a varying array of market-inspired cuisine. It’s particularly known for its show kitchen and sushi bar. We love it for its yummy flatbreads, goat cheese ravioli appetizer (one of the only two original menu items!), and incredible filet mignon!
Reservations are tough to get here, because California Grill patrons have one of the best views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks in the “World.” If your reservation time doesn’t coincide with fireworks, all patrons are welcome to come back to the restaurant to view the fireworks from its outdoor observation decks (just keep your dinner receipt!).
The check-in desk for the California Grill is on the 2nd floor of the resort. Kids are most welcome at California Grill, but the restaurant is absolutely suited for celebrations and commemorative dining experiences.
TOP TIP: If you aren’t able to get a California Grill reservation, visit the restaurant’s check-in desk on the 2nd floor of the resort to see if there’s room in the lounge or at the bar. The lounge and bar have the same great view, serve the same great food, and are first-come first-served for seating.
